WAYPAN exists to promote the welfare of women and youth — through education, health, economic empowerment, and social equity.
Our history
The Women and Youth Promoters Association of Nigeria (WAYPAN) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established on 2nd March, 2006, under the visionary leadership of Hajiya Zainab Yakubu Muhammad. The association was founded in response to the growing need to empower women and youths through education, economic opportunities, leadership development, and community participation.
Since its establishment, WAYPAN has remained committed to promoting the welfare, unity, and sustainable development of women and young people across Nigeria. The association works to create an enabling environment where women and youths can develop their talents, acquire relevant skills, become economically self-reliant, and actively contribute to nation-building.
The association is duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria, giving it legal recognition to carry out its objectives and programmes nationwide. Through partnerships with government institutions, private organizations, development partners, and local communities, WAYPAN continues to implement initiatives that foster peace, social inclusion, entrepreneurship, advocacy, and community development.
To empower women and youths across Nigeria by promoting education, skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, leadership, advocacy, and community development programmes that enhance self-reliance, equality, peace, and sustainable national development.
To be a leading organization in Nigeria dedicated to building empowered women and youths who are productive, innovative, responsible, and active contributors to a peaceful, prosperous, and inclusive society.
Aim & objectives
To promote the welfare of women and youth in the society.
To organize seminars and workshops that assist and enlighten our women and youth.
To reduce extreme hunger and poverty among women and youths.
To ensure that women and youths have adequate quality education at all levels.
To create social equity and empowerment of women and youths as an effective way of combating poverty, hunger and diseases.
To use adequate measures to improve maternal health and reduce child mortality.
To ensure appropriate response of women and youths to HIV/AIDS, malaria and other preventable diseases.
To create sustainable economic development and cater for women and youths' needs in the society.
